Hair Products That Actually Work On My Mixed Daughter\’s Hair

I\’m not going to lie- the past few months have been hell when it comes to my daughter\’s hair. And it\’s nothing that she or I am doing necessarily to make it bad. It\’s just the reality of how difficult her hair can be to manage.

It\’s very thick, and beautiful. It also does not retain moisture like it\’s its job. Seriously, water runs off her hair when it gets wet.

So I resorted to a little crowd-sourcing information from Reddit and found some moms who have been going through the same thing as me. This isn\’t the first time I\’ve tried products people raved about online, so I was weary.

I found a mom who even posted pictures of her daughter\’s hair, and it reminded me of what I have to work with every day!

I decided to try what the voted recommendation was, and I\’m so glad I did! I bought 4 products from the Camille Rose line, and that was all I put in her hair. I realized that her hair is just like mine; the more product you put in it, the worse it gets. I typically don\’t put anything in my hair besides washing and conditioning it.

I finally tried that with my daughter, and I could have cried from how healthy and amazing her hair looked. I stripped all the product out with the Camille Rose clarifying shampoo and then gave her a good wash with the moisturizing shampoo. I followed up with conditioner that got rinsed out and finally, I added just a bit of leave in conditioner.

Her hair detangled so easily and was so lustrous, I was able to blow dry it and \’steam it\’, as she calls it. I used the opportunity to clip some of her dead ends, too.

Needless to say, she went to school very happy today! And I was very happy I didn\’t have a crazy head of hair to deal with…well, besides my son\’s 😉
