Omg…I have been using Peloton’s new personalized plan feature. And it’s amazing.
I’m incredibly sore but feel like I’ve gotten in a good workout these past several days. Today is my day 7, which is my rest day.
Yesterday was a lower body day, and goodness lawd take me. I can barely sit on a toilet!
I love the feeling of being sore and having tight muscles. I guess, to me, it’s synonymous to hard work and progress.
Anyways, I’m really excited to keep using the feature. It’s easy to use, very customizable, and exactly what I need in this stage of my wellness journey.
How it works
Apparently this is a feature that hasn’t rolled out to everyone yet [sorry], but if you do have it, it’ll pop up on your screen when you open the Peloton app.
It’ll say something about trying Peloton’s new Personalized Plans.
You click that, and then it’ll ask you a series of questions. You set a goal, like losing weight, gaining muscle, etc. You enter how many days a week you want to work out, how long, and the intensity/comfort level with working out.
Once that’s set, your upcoming weekly schedule will display.
The cool thing is that once you have your plan set, you can shuffle through different exercises each day. For example, on Tuesday, I had an upper body class to do. I hit the shuffle button next to the workout for that day, and another option popped up. It was still an upper body workout and the same length and intensity level, just a different instructor. You can keep shuffling until you get a class you want.
Needless to say, it’s a robust feature that I’m loving. I can’t wait to share more about it after I use it some more.
I’ve hit my scale wins and am on to the muscle goals! Ugh, I love fitness stuff. Share your wins with me in the comments if you want!
I have been wondering what it was. They marketed it but I never looked. Thanks for explaining what it is.
Of course! Thanks for checking out my post.
So far, I really like it. My only complaint is my recommended classes from 2 weeks ago and last week were the same. I ended up changing my plan a bit, so we’ll see if it repeats the classes again.
With Peloton a lot of things are “glitchy” especially in the beginning so hopefully they will get it worked out!
Exactly! And over the last several years, they’ve done nothing but improved and fix bugs, so I’m pretty sure everything will work out. I think it’s just because it’s very new and they haven’t even rolled it out to everyone yet. Let me know if you try it out and how you like it!
I have it, but I am not sure I am interested. I like to just pick classes to do based on my mood. I ride daily and have a strength class schedule. 🙂
That’s fair and makes sense. I actually stopped using it, haha. I liked picking my classes better and building my stack.
What about the Strength+ app? I started to look at that but then it was asking me questions and I didn’t really want to create a plan I just wanted to see what it was like. This was on the heels of the Kettlebell class release. There is a program on the Strength+ thing.
