Today is my youngest human’s birthday! He’s been so excited for it, and honestly, so have we. We celebrated him this weekend with his little friends and young cousins for a Pokémon party.
We did different activities that were ‘Pokémon Training Exercises’ to make them the best trainers. We had stations like:
- Coloring – we colored giant Pokémon coloring pages
- Fuel Up – we ate, of course 🙂
- Balance – we put popsicle sticks in our mouth and tried to balance as many dice on the end of the stick as possible before they fell
- Create a Pokémon – we each had a page of stickers and the body of a Pokémon to create a face and style the Pokémon
- Bingo – I found a free Pokémon bingo printable and call sheet
- Train Your Brain – the kiddos worked together to try and complete a Pokémon puzzle (as long as their short attention spans allowed)
All of the activities were short enough to be fun and move on to the next activity. The balancing game was a crowd fave and hilarious to watch.
Then hubby and I got into Pokémon TCG
Pokémon was the theme of the weekend, so of course we got our son a Pokémon game. Wellllll, hubby and I ended up playing instead and fell in love with it. We haven’t played Pokémon since we were children and easily fell right back in love with it.
I don’t think I ever actually played it correctly as a child, so this is thrilling to play as an adult. We went to our favorite game store today and got some decks and booster packs.
I could spend a pretty penny in a game store and book store.
But I refrained (kinda) and just got some essentials.
I’m looking forward to continuing to learn and master the game, mwuahahaha!
Until then, let me go learn to build decks and become a pro lol
